if you do build an outdoor aviary for these relatively non-destructive birds, i'd suggest using 1/2 inch plastic hardware cloth, and pine 2x4 construction. you can use pressure treated wood on the bottom, but i would use it for the walls
plan to give the about one half of the space shaded from the sun
besure the hideaways are well ventilated in summer!
building a doubled roof might help
make your roof, nail on some 2x10's, on edge, and nail another roof over it
with open ends for air flow
this will greatly diminish the amount of heat transferred through the roof to the upper cage

still, i bet you'd better with indoor caging
