Oh my gosh no. There are many, many, many USDA regulations for keeping a cougar, and what you are intending breaks everyone of them. First off, you could keep a cougar as a house pet for about 5 months, then they would have to be in an enclosure outside that is at least 1000 sq feet. You'll be looking at about $1000 for the cage. As a kitten you must feed them a specialized formula which will cost about $150 a month. Plus vet bills. Then after 3 to 6 months you must start them on grade a meat, and supplement that with vitamins. You will also need a USDA license to own a cougar since it inhabits the US. Those are impossible to get while your cougar is in your house!!! You will also need liability insurance in case it gets lose and hurts someone. That usually runs around $2000 a year. I urge you to not even begin to look at them, they are very dangerous animals. If you want an exotic animal to start out with, I do have several kinds that would be perfect for a beginner. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at bhewitt03@sssnet.com. Thank you.
