-Yes they are safe.

-You will not notice them drinking a whole lot of water. If you are concerned, mark the water bottle using a piece of masking tape and a pen. Just draw an arrow on the tape to indicate the water level. Just keep checking to make sure that the level is going down. However, two of my chins drink only 2.5-3 oz. per week.
:After their play time at night and they are left alone in their cage, should a light be left on for them or do they prefer complete darkness?
No, you do not need to leave a light on. ;)
:I read that they should only have one sunflower seed a day, but the supplement I bought has sunflower seeds in it....should I get a different supplement that doesn't contain sunflower seeds?
I would be very, very careful when feeding seeds of any kind. Too much fat in a chins diet can lead to fatty liver. I would give them at most, 1 seed per day. :)
