Even though I have way too many pets (14 snakes, 8 lizards, 2 cats and a dog), I had been toying with the idea of getting a chinchilla and had even found a breeder who lived about 100 miles from my house. Well, 1 week ago, I found a very pretty black vlevet female in the local pet store and she now lives with me. She gets to live in the bathroom at the opposite end of the house from the snakes. She seemed pretty wild when I first brought her home, but after only a week she now lets me pet her and climbs onto my hand. We are starting to adjust to her "barking" at night (solution- close the bathroom door). This little thing is growing on me- she does love her roomps around the bathroom and her dust baths. I think her cage is too small (24x30x18). If I got a second cage and put the two door to door, would that work?
