Hello
First, some background.
I have kept a great range of pets in the past and turned my hand to chipmunks about 4 months ago. I have two male chipmunks that are from the same litter and therefore are the same age. They are co-habitating very peacefully, with almost no fighting.
The problem is this: I went away on holiday for three weeks, and left them with the housesitters. I believe they were looked after well, however I have noted the following changes.
1/ They seem less active
2/ Their gonads have swollen to a large size and appear blackened
3/ They have started to try and mate with each other!
Now, logic would dictate that they have entered season. However, I am based in the UK. Isn't this the wrong time of the year?
