I think your baby would be Coati food quick!, better be carefull when you get your new pet(s)
As for getting them we have been looking for additions for a month plus but the good news is the Coati baby season is just ahead. Our pair have the front claws removed (they still can dig merrily) and use the fingers to do all sorts of mischief. They do not have any teeth removed - Personally I see little need for it as ours have only nipped when our female is in heat and when we are taking food away. she is a bit on the prod living with a nuetered male.
I recomend making a LARGE enclosure, with stout wire! I made a smaller one in our heated basement garage (about 6x15x8) just make sure that the doors lock - they have hands. Perhaps a kennel?
I dont think either of ours were bottle fed, she will climb into our laps anytime and can be picked up slowly when not in season, he will climb or jump up for food but does not like to be held.
They eat a number of things - she eats fruits (dried raisins, mango, appricot) neither do banana's, he will eat mango's and sometimes raisins. Both eat grapes, She LOVES mice but they both go bonkers for live crickets - they will beg, push the other off and lick you for the next bug. Have not tried worms yet but I think they will like them too. I have snap trapped mice in the grainery and she lights up for those (holds both hands out to get it). They also like boiled eggs (we raise our own chickens so thats no problem) however eggs makes the skat smelly. Leave some fresh scent kitty litter out and they will 'wash up' with it dry.
Having read much before we got them we feed monkey diet (biscuits) mainly, they have both taken a liking to these, we also feed puppy chow (small qty) as its what the owner before us fed as the staple diet.
Taking care of them is easy, but they are a larger animal and while we have read many use litter boxes ours don't, so cleanup is a must as is changes in bedding. They love rags, bags and any toys, we let ours run a heated garage sometimes (winter here and they are a tropic type animal) which they scamper about in, coming back to us to say hi and then run off again. I wish you luck and know you will enjoy a most unusual and friendly pet.
