Posted by WanderingBetaWolf on June 21, 2000 at 13:36:40: 1. We need to locate an appropriate property so if anyone knows realtors, etc., please contact them with the following information: We need 160 acres or more with an existing well which is remote and sparsely populated (bordered by public land would be best. We would like to stay in Arizona but will consider just about anywhere that would be safe for the wolves. We are a 501(c)3 with conservation being one of our primary organizing purposes so there are two separate tax breaks available to anyone who might want to donate slow-moving property. The tax write-off for donation is the full appraisal value. We would pay broker fees and closing costs on a donated property. We do have some downpayment money available for a straightout purchase of land but would need terms and financing for a straight purchase. We need to have completed closing on a property by November 1, 2000. 2. Because two members of the Cochise County Board of Supervisors have expressed an interest in helping us, it would be good for them to continue receiving letters of support for Wolfsong and the animals and asking them to do everything in their power to help us find and move to a suitable location within the timeframe that they have mandated (all animals removed by January 1, 2001). You can write to: Mike Palmer and/or Tony Sarracino 3. We will be needing mega fencing, help with construction, and help with transport as soon as a property is located. 4. Naturally, we need lots of money! We have four people working on writing grants and if anyone knows of granting foundations who might be 5. We have a big fund-raiser "Run for the Wolves" already organized for Oct. 7th in Salt Lake City. If anyone would like to do something similar in their locale, please contact me and I will get you all the materials and information you need to do it. If you live near Salt Lake, get out and run. Contact me for full details about the run. 6. It is time for more people to know about our situation and our desperate need for help for these animals. If you can write an article for your local papers, please do so. You can find loads of information on our website: http://www.biopark.org/wolf/wolfsong.htm If you need more information, please contact me. Because we are now really very busy, we do not have very much time for interviews and so forth so please do try to get your articles placed rather than having publications contact us directly if possible. I will be writing an official News Release later today and will have that available. 7. Pray for us! Contact Info: Mary Harper-Bellis, Co-Founder 520-824-3689 wolfsong@vtc.net And, thanks a million for asking how you can help! Mary
