no, dormice do not really make good pets. they are the type of animal that you watch,not handle so much. they are very fast and very flighty,therefor easy to escape. go to www.yahoo.com and type in african dwarf dormice,and it will bring up some good sites, you just have to look.i know if you go to the all ohio herp show in columbus,ohio,you can get them for $20-30 each. i have a trio,but they are young and have yet to breed. good luck!
