I can't help but wonder if the problem is a congenital deformity possibly related to the albinism.... I'm really pleased to hear that your "handicapped" dormouse does well! That gives me hope that this little one might be able to make it. All dormice are cute, but this albino one is absolutely precious! I look forward to seeing the babies again tonight...and I"ll try to observe the front paws more closely.

: I don't know what's going on with the baby's withered forepaws. Perhaps a vet can give you advice. I would watch closely to make sure the paws are getting adequate circulation and don't become necrotic. I just wanted to say that if it's getting around alright, it may live reasonably well. I have a three-legged dormouse. It hasn't slowed her down a bit. She dashes around, runs on her wheel, and climbs. She's by far the more active of my two.
