Cedar Shavings + Mice??? other bedding options???

Hey all,
I hear cedar isn't too good for ANY animal, and it seems true, what about mice? Will the just up and die if I leave em in cedar? What are other safe bedding options? I don't wanna use pine because pine is poisonous to corn snakes, and I'm breeding mice to feed a corn.
