I recently purchased a young ferret. I have had ferrets for about 10 yrs. I had a rescue ( lovely little silver) and she was tough! It was a long time before she stopped biting, etc., but I attributed that to her past as an obviusly neglected if not abusive past. That all worked itself out. But I recently purchased a 5 month old ferret. Now, when I went to see these ferrets (who were from a farm that I trust as I have had a ferret from that farm that has been very healthy for more than 5 yrs.) all but one were females. I handled 4 or 5 of the female ferrets - and I don't take their guff! They were nasty! One bit my finger andwould not let go without having her jaws pryed open. The other females just plain bit! Now, there was only 1 male in this large group and he did bite when I held him, but it just wasn't as nasty as the females. Now I seldom (if ever) have a predjudice about any sex of any group of creatures ~~~~ but is my memory correct in remembering that female ferrets can be more difficult to train? Just wondering what anyone else's take is on this. Thanks alot! Nancy
