I have to admit I'm a bit disturbed by your post. The fact that you got a pet and now have lost interest is bothersome. Pets are not a new video game or t-shirt. They're not inanimate objects that only deserve your attention and affection because they're new...they are still there and in need of those things after the novelty wears off. Then the fact that you are looking for a pet that's "novel" or "unusual" is a big red flag to me. A ferret should be a pet that you want because you love the species, not because they're "cool" and different.
Ferrets require lots of attention and interaction with it's humans and is not going to sit peacefully in its cage just because you're bored with it. I can't tell you how many ferrets have been surrendered to rescues by parents whose children "lost interest". It's sad and it's tragic.
I'm thinking you're too immature for a pet and don't understand the commitment and responsibility that comes with having one. Until that time comes you can browse the internet to your hearts content www.ferretcentral.org is a good place to start.
