Hi! My name is Kim and I am new to this site. I have already learned a lot by reading past posts so thank you! My gerbils, Sugar and Cinnamon had been with us for only 6 days when they mated for the first time on Valentines Day. Now Cinnamon is trying to mount Sugar after only a few days. She is not cooperating, just squeaking and running away. I am very new to this. Is this normal? Does it mean that the pregnancy did not take or that it did? I have been told that it is not a good idea to have a cage with levels (which I do) when breeding. Should they have a house? They have a wooden house now, but how will I see the babies? Thanks in advance for your responses.
