Every where I hear they like sand (internet, books, forums, ect.) it always says to use chinchila sand. I'm going to get them some for my geribils myself soon. I don't know if that's the only kind of sand to use, but I wouldn't risk it until I know for sure. :) Hope I could be of some help.
