I use to try to move the mother out of the cage temporarily while gently nudging some of the babies onto a cardboard with tissue, and leave half for mother to feed at one time. You could try this in order to have them fed evenly. Or, you could ask some experts at the site you mentioned, or w.w.w.agsgerbils.org
Good luck, let me know if you can do this or not without mother getting annoyed. Just try not touching them with your hands.
