Do you have a little box for him to sleep in inside his cage? At night time I cover my pigs cage partially with a towel so they will stay a little warmer, and to give them privacy. By nature they are very nervous little critters. Maybe you could leave a little night-light on so he'd feel more comfortable. Eventually he'll get used to his routines.

:i just got a 2 month old male guinea pig last monday and the last 2 nights whenever i turn off the lights, he goes crazy. he starts running around in his cage and jumps all over the place. when i turn the light on to see if he's alright he calms down a bit, are they afraid of the dark? or is he sick?
