I just got a surprise yesterday when I found that my hamster had babies. I was wondering if the babies leave the mom and get water etc for themselves or do they feed from the mom. I am totally new to this. The mom is sitting on the babies right now. How long will she do this? Do some or any of the babies die? I know that I can't touch them for at least 6 weeks and I have taken out the dad. Do or will the babies go out on their own at any time? I have the tubes that run all over the cage and out of the cage. The mom and babies are in a dome that is from a long tube. Will the babies climb through the tubes at anytime? I'm worried that they will die from hunger or thirst. What do I do? Any help would be great.
