Hello. I'm not really new to this board but I haven't come on for a really long time and that's because I didn't have hamsters for that while. My birthday is in 3 days and my friend decided to give me her Syrian hamsters as a present. The hamsters are an adult male, an adult female, 2 babies born on the 28th of february and 5 other babies born last week. I have had a couple of litters before and I know how to handle this litter (but any advice is appreciated), however, I want to seperate the older babies from the mother as soon as possible and I decided to seperate them from the mum when they become one month old on the 28th of this month. Also I think the mum may be pregnant because my friend was really an amateur owner and didn't really know that Syrians were solitary and she didn't seperate the adults, only I did when I got them and that was 5 days after the second litter was born. My reason for posting here is that I can't really indentify the colour of the two adults and one of the older babies they all seem to have the same color. They are generally grey in appearance and it seems like the colour of the roots lighten so the tips are darker than the roots. They don't have cheek flashes and their faces are ticked with white. They have a white stripe at the chin and lighter rings around the eyes also their bellies are slightly paler than the rest of the body and their muzzles are also lighter. The baby is much paler than the adults with really obvious rings around the eyes and the lighter muzzle. They're not sables and they're not light greys I was thinking maybe they were roans but I haven't had any toothless whites in the litters so I'm guessing they're not really roans unless I was really lucky (highly unlikely). What I really think they are is dove but I'm not so sure.
