I just got a hamster last week. It was my friends hamster and she gave it to me because she was going into the air force. when I picked her up today i noticed that she had a very large, very red growth? or bump on the left side of her bum. I dunno what it is! but it's big! and it's very red and it looks like it was bleeding not to long ago because it has things that look like scabs! I've never owned a hamster before and I have no idea what to do besides going to the vet. I think it's a tumor but she is eating well and exersizing. could it be some other kind of sickness that can be contracted. We have a rabbit and the rabbit and hamster's cage are right next to one another. I don't want the rabbit to get sick if it's something contageous on the hamster. can anyone help?! Please!
