I took Trixie in to the emergency room a week ago because she was lethargic, very cool to the touch, and not eating.
She was having a hard time breathing when I got her there (I had to take her to one 250 miles away), and they put her in an incubator on oxygen, x-rayed her and found that her lungs were full of fluid, and started her on Enrofloxacin, and released her the next day when she was breathing alright on room air.
She improved a bit in the next few days, and we drove home -- now it is a week later (she has been on the Enrofloxacin BID since then), and she was not looking good this evening when I got home, had crawled out of her nest and was sprawled on the bare cage floor, very cold again, and hadn't eaten.
I've given her another dose of the Enrofloxacin, and put her onto a heating pad, but she still doesn't look very good, and is making a slight clicking sound as she tries to breathe.
Any hopes for her? Anything that I can do here? There is no way that I can get her back to the emergency room, and the local vets are just about useless for the small pets.
