You might want to try a different kind of bedding. It's possible that the eggs may be dormant in the bedding. Also, be very careful not to let any dampness sit in the cage as all kinds of buggies love to lay eggs in damp bedding or feces. They've got to be coming from somewhere, so figuring out the source will be the key. Good luck!

:please help. my hedgie cage is being taken over by gnats. i clean it out everyweek but they keep coming back. they seem to be settling on her feces. what is causing this? can they be harmful to her? what can i do to stop this? they are really annoying. please help, niki
