That wouldn't be the best set up. Most people find that the superpet guinea pig/rabbit cages work much better. Also, a cheap alternative could be a sterilite container. Also, if it is not a baby, there are several creative options that are cheap to make, and give you lots of options. A good place to check out for homemade designs is http://cavyspirit.com/Cages.htm They show how to make the cages out of cubes which is a really unique way to go.
