My friend breeds hedgehogs and she would like to give one to me. I have been reading about them trying to learn as much as possible. I don't want to take one just because they are cute and my kids want one. I want to make sure that I can commit to a lifetime of care for any animal I have.

My friend tells me that the feces of these animals is very smelly and the cage will smell no matter how much you clean it. I can handle anything, but not a smelly cage.

I currently have to care for 2 tiels, 2 geckos, a guinea pig, a hamster, two children and a grouchy husband. Is the smell worse than a guinea pig?
