My hedgie is almost 4.. I think the expectancy is 4-6 years? It can depend on the breeding etc.. a lot of times illness hits fast with no signs..

:Could anyone out there tell me how long the life expectancy of captive hedgehogs is? Our second hedgehog just died at 3 yrs of age. The last one died at 2 1/2 yrs. The first one had pneumonia, so we expected the second one to live longer. No hint of illness, just passed in the night. We have done everything right as far as we know. Should we expect longer lives?

:Thanks in advance for your help,
:Derek B
