This is not entirely true. In the wild hedgehogs are pretty much solitary, however in our homes some hedgehogs prefer to be alone, some tolerate another hedgehog and some thrive only when they have a companion. I have one female who gets very upset if she is in a cage alone. It starts to stress her out.

:Hedgehogs are very solitary animals. It is not a great idea to even keep them with other hedgehogs, much less a chin.
