Hedgies are from the dessert and chinchillas from the mountains. The temps are WAY too different to allow them to be together, no matter how big the cage. A hedgie could go into hibernation if kept too cold and a chinchilla would over heat and could suffer heat stroke if kept at the 75-80 degrees that hedgies demand. Hedgies and Chinchillas eat VERY different foods and need different environments. If they are compatible, they could have play time together, but NEVER house hedgies and chinchillas together.

:will they fight? is it bad for them mentally? thx
