I mentioned to a friend from PA (I'm from NY) that I was going to get a hedgehog. He said, "Yeah, I'd like to get one but I can't." This guy has caimen, crocs, gators, electric eels and cats and a slew of other pets (builds custom enclosures in basement out of cement and takes great care of animals). I couldn't figure out why he couldn't get one until I asked.

He informed me that they are illegal in PA. This is a state where you can buy and sell venomous snakes without a permit and they don't let you buy a hedgie! He said that the state actively prosecutes anyone violating this law.

As you can tell from my post, it really took me by surprise. So I guess PA is a state to add to your list.
