It sure would be helpful to know the answer. When we had one of our zebras sedated, our vet recommended that we vaccinate her for tetanus and rabies so we did that. Other than that neither she nor our other one have had vaccinations. So far they are doing fine so either they haven't needed the protection or we have been lucky.
:I, and several other zebra owners, have been wondering if zebras are susceptible to many of the common equine diseases or are they naturally immune. We have been vaccinating our zebra for all the same things we vaccinate our horses for but it often leaves me wondering if we really NEED to put a zebra through the stress and trauma.
:Does any one know first hand of which diseases zebras have been diagnosed with or died from? Has a zebra ever been tested EIA positive? Has one been diagnosed with WNV? Flu? Rhino? EHV?
:Inquiring minds want to know! Thanks!
