I recently acquired a male llama at an aution. We were told he was about 6 months old, but he is showing some aggressive behavior. He is very friendly most of the time. He loves people in general, but when you turn your back he tends to rear up and it seams he is trying to mount you. He is about 200 lbs., and we can control him now, but we won't be able to when he is full grown. We had been warned before we purchased him not to buy any bottle raised males because they tend to try mate with humans. I have a feeling he was bottle raised and we were not told. Is there anything we can do to reverse this behaivor while he is still managable? We have children and have to keep the llama in a smaller pen to keep him away from the children. We wanted a guard animal for the rest of our animals, but wanted something that would be a pet to the family. Do you have any suggestions?
