proper housing for short tail?

Hi everyone!

Looking for some advice from experienced owners. I'm going to be getting a short tail in the spring... I know usually an aquarium is recommended, but I'd prefer something a little more unique. I was looking into the gerbil home from Habitral, the new "space" design (16"x10"x9" plus added space via accessories)would this work for my new short tail?
