Hey, I myself am reletively new to mice, I only have 3 adults, 2 of which I have just bred and they are currently minding a litter of 10, but I think I can help you. First of all, how young is it? You said it was a baby in one of your posts...If it's a baby baby like still pink and helpless you basically have no chance in raising it, but, if it's walking around on its own and is eating solid foods you should have a much better chance...All it really needs is food, water, and a place to sleep in. if you have hamste food or something like that it will eat that or like mine do you can feed it non sugary cereals like rice krispies and kellogs corn flakes but dont feed it things like froot loops and stuff althoguh it might like it I can't see that being good for it... For a bedding you can give it wood shavings but if you dont have that FOR NOW you can use some CLEAN rags and put them on the floor of the cage with a couple that she can climb under to keep warm...water is obviously just water and depending on the mouse it might prefer a bowl or a bottle, all of mine use a bowl. As for your question what should you give it to play with...They don't really play a whole lot justgive it things to climb around on and remember almost no mouse can resist a tunnnel so give him toilet rolls or stuff like that. About it being male or female, my male has huge testies so that's how i know but some don't so here a way you can kind of tell...If he's old enough to do this with you can hold him by his tail and let his back feet grab on to the edge of a counter or something...this should make his testies pop out and be more easily seen. Aslo, the space between the tail and the genitals is greater in the male then in the female. i think that's all, hope I was some help...
