I just read an article ( http://www.suite101.com/welcome.cfm/3125 ) that says that few tame hand-raised tamarins can ever breed. Although our male and female are still too young to breed, they are now ultra-tame. Thanks to their diapers, harness & leash and sleeping tubes ( www.metromonkey.com ) we take them with us almost everywhere we go. Their leash is three feet long, so we always stay at least four feet from any stranger, and when we take them camping with us we do not go to public campsites. But I am dismayed to read that they may end up not being able to breed because they are tame. Has anyone else EVER had a pair of really tame marmosets or tamarins which remained tame into adulthood and were able to breed? Please share your knowledge.
