Fresh fruits and vegetables give diarreah to rats, mice, and hamster if given in large amount. Good food to give them is the dog food with 7% fat and rodent lab block ( mine didn't like ti ) and some rat/mice mix...Don't give cat food because it is too high in fat. As an occasional treat, dog biscuit is good, too, and bread. No, chocolate! It's harmful to many small animals and dogs. Mine loved cook rice. On occasion, I put a small amount in a dish for him.
