I have a male baby gebil with a very swollen tummy. He's around 3 wks old. It's been swollen for a few days now. I've tried to help him the best I can with what I know.
I saw him relieve himself today while running about on the carpet.
He gets cold easily, so I am placing him and his brother and mother under the heat lamp.
I have also been providing water with a plastic syringe to ensure that he gets it.
His father was his mother's son. She had mated with one of her offspring, when I thought it impossible, Boy...was i caught off gurard. Now i have two baby gerbils with one having some problems. I'm not sure if the shape of his head is different from normal, and it seems as if his legs are smaller than usual in comparison to his brother's.
I wish to find out if there is anything i can do to alleviate the bloatedness, until i can afford to get him to the vet in a day or so.
Thanks,
Buzzygirl in B.C.
