::Does anyone know if squirrels can get vaccinated
:against rabies? Someone told me they cannot.
:The latest I have read on rabies vacs would lead me to believe that there have never been any trials done on vaccination of squirrels. Rabies in squirrels is extremely rare. In the wild they are not known vectors. For an animal to be vaccinated and it be recognized...that species must go through trials to determine if the vaccination truly works in them, a costly undertaking and the reason many "exotic" species haven't been trialed.
