Yesterday, while cleaning out my babies cage, the smaller one, who slept more, made a mad dash for it and got away outside. He ran under my deck, so we tried to coax him out of there for about an hour. Finally, I stood on one side, someone on the other, and we got him out, but he was too fast to catch (had to blanket to throw over him), and he got away - running up a tree.
My babies are about 11-12 weeks now, and it's anywhere from 16 degrees during the day to as cold as 9 degrees at night (I live in Montreal).
I've put their box outside, in a tree, with some of their food, in hopes that he will recognize his box, make himself a nest, eat...and then eventually (one I fully repease his brother) they will both nest in the same box.
It also rained last night...poor lil guy.
