I have no gliders and no plans right now to get any, but call me curious :-).... I've been reading a bit about this problem of male gliders mutilating themselves. Seems that some think it may be due to a nematode infection...

Questions:
Why would this affect only males? At least it seems that it's only males I've read about who mutilate.

What about the sexual frustration theory for mutilation? Has this been ruled out completely?

Has anyone ever neutered their male gliders that they don't intend to breed? Has anyone ever had a neutered male glider mutilate?
