#1. I think that it depends on the maturity of the person and if they are able to commit. Personally I don't think that this would be a good pet for a 13 year old.
:#2. There are USDA certified breeders everywhere, look at www.breederlist.com. Also look at other websites like www.chinsandgliders.com . In order to sell, give away or trade a glider you have to be USDA licensed.
:#3. Each glider has a different personality, and sometimes even with the utmost care, some gliders are just not "people gliders". There are a lot of things to consider, gliders will bonds to their owners and mates and have been known to die of loneliness. They live 12-15 years in captivity and have no required vaccinations. I have only been biten a few times by my gliders and everytime it was because of something I did, so my fault.
