:Hi.
:I am an animal LOVER! I Loooooooove animals! I have admired sugar gliders for a while and have a couple questions.
:#1. Is a sugar glider a good pet for say a 13 year old or so?
:#2. Where can you get sugar gliders? I haven't ever seen them at pet stores or anything and haven't even seen one in real life.
:#3. What are their normal personalities- do they like to be out and held? Do they bite? Do they carry rabies? Are they mean? Are they nasty? Are they good? Are they mistufous?
:#4. How long do they live?
:
#1. A glider can be a good pet for a 13 year old if the 13 year old is VERY gentle and responsible.
#2. You can look for a breeder in your area on the internet, and I am strongly against buying gliders from a pet shop or a wild caught glider. It could also be good to rescue a glider from a glider rescue.
#3. Gliders love to come out and play, and usually will never bite unless provoked. They form a very strong bond with their owner, even greater then a bond with a dog or cat. They do not have rabies and are not mean or nasty.
#4. Gliders normally live 12-15 years.
Also I would like to tell you that it is a good idea to do as much research as you can on gliders and find an exotic animal vet in your area before you get an glider, and also don't be afraid to ask questions, even if they sound stupid, we all have to start some where!
